SUSETTE KELO NEW NEWS
Well...An Inch Length Piece Of News
Or Why I'm Still Pissed Off

I was reading a newspaper in the state I presently reside which isn't so much a NEWS paper as a newspaper which looks like a newspaper. Ya know People?...How it's almost all ads?...Well that's this paper along with a few national articles and alot of local minutae...although, I must say, some of which is very interesting and some is exactly like the Kelo U.S. Supreme Court Case...read about and ignored by a public becoming apathetic to the point of "Sure he's the President...let 'em do what he wants".

The article, like the original, although a much more pronounced article which inspired The Ballad Of Susette Kelo, caught my eye....LUCKILY!
It was on the 3rd or 4th page in one of those columns that run down the side of a couple of large advertisments with little bold headings over each little story.
The heading was "Woman Gets To Keep Her Home". THAT'S what caught my eye and I just glanced back at the article when the first two words raised my brows and my brain went into overdrive.
The article, about an inch and a half, began "Susette Kelo..yada, yada, yada"...
I read it. Then read it again. Felt good at first then felt not so good.

FIRST of all...No information was given except the fact that the Good, hardworking, built her own home mother of two and wife and nurse was Not Going To Lose Her Home!
They, whoever "they" are, will be moving the entire Kelo home to another location.

OK...This is why I felt good at first. Then I wondered..."Is it on the riverside"?.
"Is it in the same general area?"...Ya know I was wondering about things like WAS THE HOME BEING MOVED TO A PLACE BEFITTING HER DREAM OF WHY SHE BUILT HER HOME WHERE SHE BUILT HER HOME AND WHAT SHE BUILT IT FOR LOCATION?
That was the issue to begin with. Ms. Kelo dreamed of a home on the riverside and was lucky to find (if you haven't read the story yet) a run down house on some beat up property and purchased it for a good price. Then proceeded to ressurect
that same propery and home into the dream home she always wanted. Hard work, blood, sweat and tears and the hand sewing of curtains and such...That was why she fought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to keep her home. Not for money or a better price, and I know I just committed a double bogey there, but I was angry with the fact this story was buried, squashed and made to sound as if some lil ole lady was being saved by some local "officials"! Even going on to describe the home as "a little, peach coloured house"! Yeah..it's LITTLE all right! A little bit of a travesty that this is happening to family's across the nation and The U.S. Supreme Court said it was OK to take someone's home and give it to another private individual in the name of profit and city beautification! That was the ONE day(down on knees and bow)the MEDIA reported this story. The media continue to almost ignore (i said alnost media) what is happening entirely.
OH...GI's making crazy SOBs get naked goes on for months on the front pages! But here at home? In the USA? Family's being torn from homes they've lived in for years, some for over a century gets nothing! And what little it gets ...and even when the public is made WELL AWARE on occassion people just don't want to move or get off their duff! Apathetic?...Hey?...A guy came into power in the 1930s with a population like that. One similar to what is happening to the population in the USA. Jobs going, youth aimless, a people happy to be "taken care of".
